N54 Twins swapped out with Single turbo from n55?

Has anyone tried to swap out the twins from the N54 with the single turbo from the N55?

Yep, even if it bolted right up there's not much of a reason to do that.

It won't bolt pattern is different. You would have to hack it off and weld up the n54 version. Far to much work to go slower lol. Now a single turbo n55 wanting to go twins makes more sense.

Yep, that's why I said even if it did bolt right up (which it won't) there's no real reason to do it.

It's a waste; the N55 turbo gets maxed out fairly easily and actually yields less power than a FBO N54.

If you want to go single turbo, go with one of the established options and stop trying to cut corners. More often than not (see "always"), the cheap options ends up costing more than buying the right parts from the get go.
