Thumbs down Is this the common fault for DTC failure?

Started car this afternoon and got this error light on....

Am I looking at an expensive fix for this? Not going to even bother with dealer as car is a 55 plate and 130k on the clock. Have a reasonable indy I can take it too tomorrow morning...

Drove the car to work and drives OK but the traction control is deffo off!

Also pressing the DTC button on the dash does nothing (pressing and holding, tried both)

in my normal driving I have had the traction control light come on in the past when ever I have pushed the car slightly etc so I wouldn't like to drive the car without it really...

Im hoping its an easy fix like some sensor that needs replacing rather then a whole unit...

Ive read online that its some uni that does DTC and ABS all in one and hence why its expensive?

Could be a few hundred quid - the part can now be repaired with a service kit negating the £1k cost of a new one.
Do a search as there are some good threads on here about it.

I thought at first you had already slid into a ditch from that camera angle

Before lashing out hard-earned readies, you must get it diagnosed.
I had a similar thing on my 530. All that was missing was traction and stability control. Ran for months with no problems apart from the annoying bong on start up.
Bought some software and hooked it up to the 5er and it turned out to be the yaw sensor, so the car disabled the DSC and also the traction. Didn't miss it, even over last winter!
New ones cost many hundreds of pounds, but I got one from a breakers for £80 posted.

Could be something as simple as a wheel sensor (£60 stealer price) or the aforementioned hydraulic unit.

Probably the most helpful post in the thread!

Car was in with a specialist today (who replaced my brake fluid for 50 quid all in ), he checked the codes and says the fault is a sensor, not the unit. So need to get it to him again later in the week for him to order the part and replace it at some point..

I just recently had this issue with my 08, what was the end result after you brought your car back?

Also, I had a the word "Brake" come up in Yellow at the same time. Was this the case for you?

Thanks,
