Hawk HP+ too aggressive for DD?

Hello,

I'm about to upgrade to a more aggressive pad/rotor combo.

Does anyone have any experience with HAWK HP+ pads and can provide some insight and or recommendations?

Hard to make a fair comparison. Had a set of these pads on my Altima SE-R. It was a good improvement overall over stock. Better initial bite and shorter stopping distance. But... this was compared to the stock pads that came on the Nissan, which was pretty good.

HP+ is a perfectly acceptable pad for driving on the street, HOWEVER, these pads can be very 'squeaky' and at times you will sound like a school bus or truck coming to a stop.

If you can live with the noise, then these pads would be just fine.

I have the Hawk HPS pads (not sure how different they are from the HP +) with ECS slotted rotors on my car, yes they squeak occasionally mostly when they are cold and coming to slow stops. They are definitely not too aggressive for street in fact I really wish they had a lot more initial bite and I could get more stopping power out of them without having to go so deep into the brake pedal. Especially now that I've been to the track with these pads I'm looking into more aggressive one's before my next trip to the road course.

For pure street application. Nothing beats the pedal feel of the stock/textar pads.
