I would not wrap the stock IS trim at all. The grooves and badge make it really hard to get a nice smooth wrap. I would suggest buying a used trim set that will fit (walnut, black, aluminum whatever is available) our car and wrapping it, instead of the IS trim.

I've actually debated plasti-dipping my IS trim to see how it looks. That way, it will change the color up but still show the texture and possibly the 335is badge may be able to be seen through it. My trim is a little scratched up so thats why I'm debating on doing it. And of course, it is the piece with the badge that is scratched

How does one "scratch up" the IS trim?
I don't think mine even has finger prints on it. |

I bought it that way. One flaw I had to turn my eye on to get an IS. My e46 was totaled so I had to move quicker in my search and at any given time while I was looking there were only 20-30 for sale across the US. At some point in time I will eventually run across a set from a wrecked one.

Good Rule: Most are leases and should be under 10K per year.

Feb 2014 - $36.9k. He paid $33.5 at auction from BMW week earlier.
2011 (built in July 2011), 16k miles, AW/CR, DCT, NAV, Prem, Conv, CW, HK. Looked for 10 weeks for loaded car in this color combo. Didn't even haggle just put deposit down via Pay Pal. |

Great price.
In September I paid 3K more then that. with a little more miles. Probably overpaid but bought someones lease out. They were going for more locally at the dealers at that time. Once the next gen came out it was expected the prices would drop some. I think is will stabilize somewhat due to their rarity. Once all the leases go back and stabilize a bit.

Remember, you'll pay more for the cabrio. Mine was $68K MSRP new.
I want a new M4 cabio. But at $98K, I'm probably getting a Vette instead. |

So a 2011 should have roughly 30k miles then. I'd be ok with that. I recently saw a 2013 with 20k miles. That's a ton of miles for only one year! On the flip side I will have a longer warranty period. Decisions decisions.

Read on forum that MY2011 run was ~18 months, MY2012 was ~12 and MY2013 was ~6. So will always be more 2011s available.

Car was built in July in 2011 and sold in Aug 2011. So at time of purchase had 18 months of factory warranty remaining. Good luck with purchase.

So, you are going to see a lot of 2011 leases coming back into the dealers right now. You'll have to wait for the 2012 and 2013 models, though. As for mileage, I'm in the same boat. I have a 2013 with 20K miles on it. But, I got my 335is in October 2012. So, I actually have correct mileage. Still, I imagine you will see more 335is models popping because of the ///M4 BMW is good at working deals with you on early trade-ins and trade-ups. |

I just got the JB4 on mine last week (after 2 years of owning this car). The car has a smooth acceleration. I couldn't be happier with the JB4. I Just ran a 33% E85 mix in it this weekend and WOWZA!!!!!. I had a procede on my car N55, I like the JB4 much better. Although, it's like comparing apples to oranges.
