Yes. That's too bad. I read that Canada has it's own limited edition for the335i sedan with leather carbon interior trim 313 rims and Performance Exhaust !

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...Canada+limited

I don't have a clue what it cost but sounds better than what were getting here in the states

It would be great if someone would do a before/after dyno test.

IMO the deal for the older N54 that includes new MSD81 is great.

I would like to get the cooling as well.

I would love to know what the difference is!!! This is a great question

If this is just a simple remapping of the ECU, why is it so expensive?

it should go without saying that more boost = more power = more heat. Don't discount the benefits of the cooling portion of the BMW tune. I would trade a few HP for better reliability, less heat soak, and a limp-free day at the track... My two cents

a very good point for the true enthusiasts who like to drive hard and keep their car tip top for 5+ years, but I think even BMW is now realizing that a great number of people (many on this board) just lease or buy the car only to trade it in 2-3 years later and just want a quick bump in power. better to give a factory, reduced output tune, than some 100 hp engine killer that will cause post trade in warranty issues for the next owner

For all of you SF Bay Area folks, I just spoke to East Bay BMW in Pleasanton. They're selling the Version 1 kit for $599 - however, they will give a 10% discount for BMWCCA members. This drops the price to 539.10 + tax = $586.27. Plus, they have decided on a labor cost of 1 hr for the install, which is $164. Further, they said that regardless of how long it takes to install any necessary software updates for your car, you will only be billed for 1 hr of labor. Bottom line: $750.27 total for Version 1 installed.

They said they've already installed it on an '11 on their lot, and the difference in performance is definitely noticeable.

Thanks for the info update, I have been waiting to find the best deal in the Bay Area, unfortunately I have not been a member of BMWCCA for many years to save 10%.

My car has an older DME software version, so I am assuming from your post that they would give me the latest DME version too.

I am also wondering if it would be possible to buy the PPK from Tischer BMW at $575, no sales tax, and then get a dealer here in Nor Cal to install it for a good price.

I e-mailed 3 dealers the other day to get price quotes on the PPK installed, not even one has replied.

Does anyone know if this PPK puts a 2011 335i power output to equal that of a 335is? If so this would be so worth it. Has anyone asked a Dealership?

Also would like to know if this was installed then it is possible to remove it later and put on a JB4 or something? After the original warranty expires.

Here's a reason to join the BMWCCA.....It only costs $48/yr to join. You will immediately recoup the cost with the 10% discount off the kit. I realize you can get the kit for $575 from Tischer (no tax and free shipping) versus paying East Bay $586.27

To keep it simple, I'll probably pay the extra ~11 bucks and get the whole thing thru East Bay. Plus, I'm not sure if I can walk in with a $575 Tischer part, and whether they will still give me the 1 hr $164 install???

Regarding updating your car to the latest DME and software: The guy I spoke with at East Bay said it can sometimes take hours to update a car, and they will do it prior to installing the kit, and we will only be charged for 1 hr labor. However, I assume the free update is only for cars still under factory warranty.

it will have the same horsepower as a 335is, but it will not have the available temporary overboost of torque like the 335is. you can ad a jb4 to the car even when it has the PPK.

I am seriously considering this upgrade.

Yea that's kinda what I figured how much hp it will add. But how do you know you can still add a jb4 to piggy back onto it? Has anyone done this yet?

I just called East Bay BMW and they quoted me $890 installed and tax included. Prices are all over the place.

Can you tell us who you spoke to? Because I just spoke to them a day after you and they're quoting me 1.5 hours of labor for a total of $890, didn't mention anything about BMW CCA membership

The BMW CCA discount won't be pitched by the parts department. You have to ask for it. You'll get different numbers for each dealership. At my dealership the discount is 15% on parts and 10% on labor (or vice versa). I wonder if the BMW CCA discount stacks with the 2011 special price. Sounds like it does in the Bay Area

Was quoted $933 parts & Labor from Irvine BMW. Trying to haggle the price down to about $760 which is the most I am willing to pay for this ecu flash, and is kind-of the median prive most others are reporting here.

In any case, too expensive for my tastes for now, but i'm sure that this "introductory" price will probably stay for the long term.
