Are u tuned? cuz im sure 98% of the guys that get this mod are gonna be tuned. The tune and running 15 psi will wear out that engine and/or those turbos out alot faster than this pulley will.

I don't think I've ever heard of a pulley being the direct cause of a failure. I'm sure it can happen... but I tend to think its a chain of events sorta thing that all the mods contribute to over time. I'm looking forward to hearing more about this... especially pricing.

We can argue back and forth whether or not this will destroy our engine... but neither side is gonna be able to prove their point until the pulleys have been out for a considerable amount of time.

actually its not. Im not saying the tunes are gonna destroy your car. I have a JB3 and i run map 7 daily. I think Vishnu, JB3, Giac are all great tunes. But what im saying is a fact. Higher psi = more wear and tear. Its like anything else. The harder it works the faster its gonna wear out. Take your refrigirator at home. Theres a setting from 0-9. 0 being the warmest 9 being the coldest. You set it at 3 it gives the compressor time to cycle off. Rest. Then kick back on. Put it on 9 and keep it running all the time. Which way is the fridge gonna last longer? now am i saying one will die after 6 months the other after 6 years? no. I think u took my words out of context.

If the pulleys costs under 300$
how much will the installation cost?

Free if you can do it yourself. But if your not a DIY'er. 1-2 hours of labor. I called a shop in Houston and they quoted me 1 hour labor on the phone. But again how ever long of labor x their rate = your install total.

p.s - or u can do my method

labor hours x their rate - me haggling = install rate.

Did you read page 2, on what roozie said?

Who know's (long term) if this is gonna cause problems. But with any MOD you run the risk of creating problems later on... I personally don't think a mod like this will cause much damage later on, if installed correctly they can and in most cases perform better than OEM ones.

I ran a lightened pulley in my V6 Accord (Unorthodox Racing) with no ill effects over the 20k miles I put into it, and a friend of my girlfriend still drives my accord and has put another 10k on it with no issues. OF course my personal experience has no weight in this, as that is a different car entirely

The only way we will know about any long term effects will be by actually trying this pulley out... From what i can see (and the price I saw on the website) It's worth the try..

What is Roozie's background???
Of interest, maybe it's just me but did anyone notice that the OEM pulley on the right has a "Hubcentric" indent that allows it to self align to the hub and not rely on the bolt holes to center it ..................after all you'd want to be sure it's 100% balanced and vibration free. Why wasn't this designed into this aftermarket pulley??

1 = Vibration damper
2 = Hub
3 = Hex Bolt
4 = ASA-Bolt 6 x (M8X16)
5 = Sprocket
6 = Washer

Theres 6 already signed on for the GB on N54tech, the GB needs 12 confirmed.

When the GB starts here I am def. in. just to lazy to create a n54 account.

I'm sure we can hit 25+ on e90post.

Gold Anodized will be my choice.

to quote the GB on N54tech

"The purpose of this thread is to offer you a special GROUP BUY on our new pulley, at an amazing discount. As you can see by clicking above, the MSRP on this pulley is $269.00 and our current ETA for release is mid October.

We can offer you a GB price of $199.00 plus shipping, IF we can get 12 or more members signed up here in this thread by September 2, 2009. Each member will then be asked to pay in full at the discounted GB price, payment instructions will be provided as we reach the closing date. Production will require roughly six weeks and can not be hurried. This is the reason each member on this list is being offered a very large discount in exchange for their patience and support while we move along with production. Our current ETA for delivery is mid Oct. 2009.

Those who do not want a discount and can not wait patiently during the production period are welcome to sit this one out and pay full price in October.

Available colors for this GB will be Black, Red, Gold, and Blue. Production colors in the future will only include Black and Red, so if any of you are interested in a special color, this is your chance!

Just as FYI... NST has designed over 100 different pulleys for Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Lotus, Scion, VW, etc. over the past few years and has a VERY good reputation on the following forums...

www.8thCivic.com
www.Club4AG.com
www.YarisWorld.com
www.XR-Underground.com
www.ScionLife.com
www.MicroImageOnline.com
etc etc etc.

We have put a great deal of money and effort into the research and development of our new BMW N54 CR-Lite Crank Pulley and we are sure that those of you who decide to join our GB will be very happy with the quality and performance of our product at the end of this process. "

If I have broken a rule in quoting the other GB, please let me know and I will edit this post. No Harm Intended
