I am very happy with my SSTT...

Rixstr had limp modes because his SSTT was a development unit.

AB Tek - Do you have any other mods? Did you bypass the boost solenoids?

I think in all there have been very few reports of trouble with the SSTT.

the only way i have seen someone personally ever have a problem is if or when they do no let there car go into sleep mode. this can create a check engine light or limp mode. the SSTT is very hard to throw any kind of limp mode or check engine light. that why we see so little of them.
all other issues are outside of the SSTT.

SSTT is nice if you don't want to touch your ECU.
the jb2 might have its power somewhere different in the power band but there about the same deal so not sure how much more u got except some $$

Sames experience, used to have SSTT but changed to JB2 and noticed a definite improvement. Both are good and the SSTT is much quicker to install/uninstall but if you aren't opposed to the extra hassel of installation JB2 is the way to go since you can add the H Pill for 15 dollars and have a real beast of a car, or H and R and have a low 12 second car.

IMO, the SSTT or the Dinan reflash is the way to go if you don't like major surgery.

is there a thread detailing how the SSTT works by not going throught the ECU? besides the easy install, are there any benefits or disadvantages to the unit? Is it only regulating boost? or A/F, timing?

Very happy with it. I've never driven cars with any of the other tunes but I don't think it would be worth the install/uninstall hassle for me. I've already taken mine on and off twice to go to the dealership of other, minor unrelated problems.

there hasnt been much limp mode from people with the sstt or people that can atualy prove it was directly related, i guess.
btw i love mine, works great on 91 octane in warm months over 8k miles and not 1 issue.
I'm planning on installing HFC DP, does that mean I'm going to have problems with my SSTT like limp modes etc?

The dealer should have been able to pull a fault code. Which one did the car throw? What gas are you using? Under what circumstances do you get limp with the SSTT in? Did you bypass the boost solenoid?

Personally I would not mix DPs and SSTT. Although I don't know exactly why it would be incompatible with DPs, it does seem to be...Perhaps it is because of the changed AFR?

+1

I don't have time to be jackin' around under my hood everytime I need to go to the dealer. I'm in and out in about 90 sec with the SSTT.

I have even less time to be worried about the letdown and embarrassment associated with limp modes.

SSTT was the only choice for me...no regrets here whatsoever. Looking forward for the SSTT2 as long as it is as trouble-free as the SSTT1.

I've posted my numbers on another thread awhile back:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=24

I've had mine on the car for about 2000 miles, no problems and still strong as ever.

I did have problems with the first unit I received: 1/2 engine icon and limp mode. Scary stuff. Spoke with Jeff from Eurobahn, they sent me out a new unit that got here very quickly and had no problems at all. He was great about going through the problem with me and giving me peace of mind. He followed up with me and told me that there was a loose connection in the initial unit that caused the problem.

Overall, I've been very happy with the SSTT and don't plan on doing anything different, unless I can upgrade to the next version without much pain.

Anyone have similar gains with a manual tranny? Seems like most of what i'm reading are all Auto's. I know I read somewhere that the dinan flash seemed to work better with the auto's and was wondering if the same holds true for SSTT.
