Installed mine yesterday. Thanks for the DIY Socket
One problem. The car is now telling me that my rear fog lights are not working... I made sure the wiring was done properly (I'm sure it is) but the rear fogs are not working? |

Try twisting the bulbs. According to InQ, the bulbs can be a bit loose, means you have to take the boot cover off again and turn the fog bulbs . let us know if it works

Nice write up as always P.
A good tip to reduce last minute frustration is to buy those spare little black plastic clips that is generally attached the rear inner panel in between the rear tail light and its cover. It is just above the three nuts that hold tail light in place. The clip ensures that once everything is done, the rear tail light cover goes in firmly in place and there is no movement or any chance of liquids slipping in.. This little bastard of a clip mostly drops down the bottom of the boot when removing the rear tail light cover to either change a bulb or in this case replace the tail light and can be a bitch to retrieve if and when dropped and if you are unable to find it, it can lead to tail light cover to remain loose. I always buy these little clips as spare and saves you from knealing down for 30 mins trying to grab that plug to secure the cover nicely in place. They are a dollar each and I have 4 5 spares always in the boot incase I need to replace a rear tail light bulb and saves me the hassle of trying to grab it within tight spots. Once I had a lot of time, I dismantled the whole inmer boot cover and recovered 5 clips sitting on the bottom of the boot near the battery and added them to my spares clips collection. They are always handy to have on the side. |

it is item no. 8 Part no. 51711916199 Can someone just confirm part no. Because it is 100% correct shape wise. Ill go home and check the invoice as well. The website realoem.com has same clip on many different models but part number differs. Couldn't find diagram of rear tail light cover to confirm this..
