good time to buy a used viper?

I always loved the viper and am thinking now would be a good time to buy a low milage used one. I am not sure if I will use it as a daily driver (only put about 5k on a car a year) or maybe a garage queen. How will the value hold up in the long run? Are they expensive to run and maintain? I was thinking something like this: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Any advice would be appreciated.

I saw few SRT 10's for under $40k and had only 20k or less miles too.

Im pretty sure the brakes and gas will cost alot... Im looking for a cheap used exotic as well... Wondering how the maintence will cost.

The way I see it, if I get one in tip top condition with new rubber on it, low miles, fully services, and drive it easy around town as my DD for a few years it shouldn't give me too much trouble. Eventually the price should go back up on it also. I can't see it depreciating as much as my 335i. Maybe I drive it for a few years then garage it and watch its value go up.

just a headsup for folks, that Viper is one of the cars in discussion for a production Ax, alongside the HHR, Humvee, Z2000 etc

If you want an exotic, look into the Acura NSX...They are much more fun to drive long term as you can have as much fun as possible in the viper in 20 minutes...It's like a sledgehammer vs. a scalpel

I think long term the viper will appreciate more than the NSX. Don't get me wrong, I like the NSX but 8 liter V10 for 35k.... Also, as ase2dias mentioned above the viper is about to get the axe so now is probably a good time to pick one up. I had an s2000 (until it got stolen) and it was a blast so I can only imagine that the NSX would be awesome but I guess I just want a muscle car.
