You'll still get CAN access with jB4. The currently available CAN Tool gets access via the OBDII port, that's why it doesn't work on a 2007.

The JB4 gets CAN access directly from the ECU, so it works on 2007

great review on n54 by the testers, driveability improvment, no overshoots, no throttle closures, reaching targets faster, less bog on MT, suppose to be a world of difference. Terry said once that he may update firmware on jb3 based on the R&D of JB4.

That would be cool for those of us forced to wait.

Wow. Just installed Jb4 on an 07 335i coupe.

Can stuff is amazing... adaptions are scary and take bit of driving..

Terry has only blessed off on map 1 and all i can say is... I can't believe that map 1 is so strong. We were pushing like 13 psi but it felt like 20 after about 5 pulls.

Amazing how it takes a lot less boost and propels the car forward!

Im running up around 18psi with meth on map 8 with my new charge pipe but my car didn't feel as fast as this little coupe on map 1 with 13 psi. An almost uncontrollable amount of power delivered more smoothly than 2.0 when 2.0 is set to zero lag fix and 30 pedal target.

100x better than 2.0 Definitely worth a try for the guys that want the newest and coolest tune on the market. If you in a proceed right now, you need to try JB4.

Just try it... It was like the first time I ever drove my 335 with a tune in it all over again..... I swear this guys car is faster than mine and we don't have his meth in yet!

No down pipes... just a brand new dci....and JB4.

Looking forward to this, as I'm starting to get fed up with the misfire issues of the Procede...

A few quick questions about the JB4, I am a happy new owner of a used 2008 335i MT and I want to get a JB, I know if I buy it now I will get a JB3 and a free upgrade to JB4 when it comes out (at least that’s what I get from reading the first page of this thread ). Anyway my question is since the JB4 has CAN access to reset trouble codes, log data and what not, do I need to get the CAN tool? What do I gain by getting the CAN tool that the JB4 with USB cable won’t get me? The reason I ask is I would be getting the PNP version with DCI and just want to know if I should bother with the CAN tool also if the JB4 I will end up with does everything anyway? Of course this will save me some money around X-Mas time ad that’s a good thing. But if I am missing anything by doing this I will just get the cable and be done with it, I just don’t want to duplicate anything if it’s not necessary.

Thanks for any input,
Dave

With the JB4 release coming soon you can save some money and not get the CAN Tool as the JB4 will do everything the CAN Tool does and more. Saying that I am a big fan of having and external independent code management system as I like to have the codes cleared AFTER the tune is removed.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the all the updates and info here Mike.
So the Jb4 can now read and delete codes correct? By reading does this mean actual codes and what they are, or reading by telling u that you have X amount of codes?

How is that done ( seeing the actual code), via hooking it up to a comp?

It's done through the steering wheel functions. There is a video on the other website demonstrating it. You choose the option on the steering wheel function, the hazards flash twice and then the speedo goes through the codes and then the hazards flash four times when it's done reading the codes.

Four example, if the speedo goes to 2 then 10 then 15 etc. that means you have a 2af etc. code.

They are read to you by the speedometer

The numbers are displayed by 0-90 mph on the speedometer.

0mph =0
10mph = 1
20mph =2
30mph = 3
And so on..

The letters are displayed from 100-160mph on the speedometer.
100mph = A
110mph =B
120mph =C

Also the turn signals will flash twice in between every code that's read.

For example let's say you throw both cat codes, 29F4 and 29F5

Your dash will read like this

Turn signals flash twice
20mph
90mph
150mph
40 mph
Turn signals flash twice
20mph
90mph
150mph
50mph
