No, I have been busy with V2. No progress on car-pc and PROcede wireless remote access. I did not pay the vendorship, does not make sense right now. Will continue when I get the time.

It's probably a little early for detail-oriented suggestions, but the new Apple Bluetooth keyboard would be great for this project:
http://www.apple.com/keyboard/ I picked one up at launch for my HTPC and I'm really impressed with it, and it's small enough to tuck away easily. The only disadvantage for this application is a lack of integrated pointing device, which you may or may not be interested in. |

Made some progress
In the last few weeks I invested a lot of time into PROcede V2. However, the car-pc project did not sleep. I got all hardware and configured the basic system. The car-pc supports up to now: - Gauges and data logging using Innovate Motorsports devices - PROcede Reader V2 software - DVD player / multimedia player - Wireless LAN The most difficult and important choice beside the mainboard has been the touchscreen. I selected a 7" monitor, physical resolution 800 x 480, Windows XP resolution 800 x 600. I will post the first screen-shots of the supported functions by tomorrow. Nothing is in the car already, so you can follow the installation step by step, as the thread title says. This project is a lot of fun and I think you will enjoy the results. - Eugen |

Looking forward to seeing the results...I hoped you were still working on this project.
Did you end up using a transflective screen? I'm curious to hear how the LCD works if you didn't. |

Thanks for a great thread Eugen. I'm just starting to contemplate a similar project for my car.
I want to replace my non-iDrive dash with the iDrive dash / hood, and install an after market monitor. Anyone know the part number for the dash w/ hood?

I am busy with my job and PROcede v2.0.2 beta testing currently. Only progress is that I ordered OBD II diagnostic / dyno software in addition. I hope to be able to continue with the car-pc next week. This little thing is fancy .

Damn Johnny - that's a helluva mod. I'm trying to make mine somewhat modular for easy sake. You went balls out, moving the HVAC controlls. Nice!
Can you post some specs, or PM me, with what you used?
