2 days before Terry got together for the video with Walked U, he did some testing at sea level. On his Vbox, he got a 115mph run. At that same place, next night (fully adapted) I ran 3 runs over 113mph (which I posted the graphs on). My best run of 113.2 was only 1.8mph slower than Terry's best. Additionally, my Gtech tends to read a .4mph or so slower than the Vbox. Other than the JB2R and 19" Generals, my car is TOTALLY stock. So considering Terry has exhaust cutouts, and a lighter car than mine, +1.8mph seems right on the money. So unless he modded his car differently in just the 2 days since he tested at sea level, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Maybe I can convince Jon Martin to come down here, so we can instrument his car, and run it against mine. That would be a great confirmation. Driver72 and I may be testing the 1.47 vs JB2R this weekend. Also, WalkedU needs to go to the track to see how fast that thing really is! Also, I doubt there is anything special about Terry's JB2R unit. I mean, it was already documented where his boost was during the run. That would really be the only way to cheat. He can't advance the timing any more than the factory ECU is running. And I don't think he had a nitrous tank, lol.

Yes, it pulls timing + Shiv is working hard to ensure that engine knock does not occur in any situation at any rpm.

100lbs takes about .1 off you 0-60 time and almost doubles that in the 1/4 miles time adding .2 to that so 150lbs is a pretty damn big difference in weight

Now for a real test, swap the tunes in the two cars -- i.e., put the JB2R on walkedU's, and the PROcede on JonMartin's. Just have to trust JonMartin not to run away with it...

Sherwin and Jon.
Hey guys good to see you met up again. I have to say, since I was in Sherwin's car last week with all the runs, Sherwin would pull 3-4 CL's on Jon when Jon was on v1.47 and on only 93 Octane (that was with equal weight in the cars). It appears in this video with Jon on JB2R that you are still pulling 3-4 CL's So too be honest, it doesn't seem like the JB2R on 98 Octane did much better than the v1.47 did on 93 Octane against Sherwin. That's interesting. Now I know you both had driver and one passenger. Who were the passengers (your gf's again?) Jon weighs probably 90-100 lbs heavier than Sherwin. With passengers Jon could of been carrying as much as 150+ lbs more in his car. That would be good for 1 CL but still. Even if you give him 1.5 CL's for that weight, Sherwin would of still beat him by 2-2.5 CL's everytime. Nice work guys. If I ever get my v2 Hotrod182 and I will be testing v2 vs JB2R (him on 96 Octane me on 93 Octane, but still on the 91 Octane v2 default settings). Our cars are both autos, both have CSL reps and General tires. We both weigh very close in weight. I have a coupe, he has a sedan, so I'm going to show up with a couple gallons more gas than him so weight is dead even. |

Well, kind of. Too be honest, in a rolling contest, 100-150 lbs means something that's for sure, but not as much as it does from a dig. It's a lot harder and take more power to get more mass rolling, but once rolling, weight doesn't affect it as much. That's why I said in my post above, that if Jon had 150 lbs more weight in his car it's probably worth 1 CL at best. But for arguement sake, as I stated, even if you gave him a full 1.5 CL for the extra 150 lbs, he still would of lost by a couple CL's every time. |
