Low profile car jack -> Costco
In case anyone is interested, Costco in Woodbridge (by Colossus) has a $99 jack that looks nearly identical to the $199 model from Canadian Tire. Low profile and slides under a coupe with sport suspension. Serious overkill as this thing looks like it could lift a cement mixer but should last a while

only difference would be the roller up front. Instead of a tubular roller, this one has 2 wheels. If your driveway is asphalt, it could damage it due to the smaller surface area to spread the weights. Just my 2c.

Nice, eventually I'm going to upgrade my jack.. I've used a cheapo Canadian Tire one (the one that's like 25 bux, 2 ton rating) for quite a while now and it gets the job done (lift one corner at a time, for tire switchovers, no jack stands).

I have the CT one, and am happy with it.
But make no mistake, it is not as sturdy as one would think. Only 1.5T so please watch out if you intend to raise something heavier than a compact car, say a van.

The crappy tire version is going on sale for $99.99 starting this Friday. November 19th to November 25th 2010
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/pr...=1290010354343 Another option is the Pricess Auto version. This also goes on sale every now and then for the same $99 price. A firend of mine picked this up and had them match the Canadian tire price. The selling feature here is that it has a lifetime warranty. http://www.princessauto.com/workshop...num-floor-jack |
