Best Steak House In London?

Reading another thread... Gaucho was mentioned, and i was wondering where people thought the best steak in london was?

Sunday night i went to Meat & Wine in Westfield Shepherds Bush, and tho the reviews before i went were really mixed, the meat that came out was some of the best ive eaten - even more a challenge when catering for 16 people.

Medium rare, and you could have cut it with a spoon it was so soft!

Other memorable steak for me was The Bull Steak Expert in Holborn - still a standout meal for the steak & service provided by a pretty small one-man band.

Gaucho though steak and co is cool if you want to cook your own. Comes out on a granite slab.

been to gaucho and hawsmoor...they're "ok"...considering the price! went to meat and wine co once and yes the steak was good!

You should try the chateaubriand at village east in Bermondsey....very smooth!!!

Nothing will beat mussel and steak bar in Scotland tho!

Santa Maria Del Sur - of F word fame was pretty good - both for food quality and price.

), Flat Iron in Soho can be added to the list as well.

Meat and Wine in Westfield is superb - never had a bad steak there. Of the more mainstream places to get steak, its probably my favourite.

But don't forget Tony's restaurant in Chelsea, The Penny Black, as he does lots of steaks and his Chateau is the very best I've had. Indeed, his Carpaccio starter is worth the visit in itself!
