Spoke with Chris a few hours ago. He was meeting with the landlord this afternoon and will hopefully have access to the building to get the car out later today. As soon as he does, he said he would call me so I can pick it up.

Big props to CWarren for stepping up to help. Carl said he would follow me back in my car so we make sure it gets back safely. Then it's only a matter of the transport picking it up...

haha, I wish. I miss my car. No word yet today and I just left a VM for the SA to call me.

I'll call when I hear from Chris. You're more than welcome to join in on the fun.

Bad news everyone. I spoke with Chris tonight and the property management company has him locked out and they won't let him back in. He informed me he spoke with them earlier in the day and offered to settle any outstanding debt with them, but they refused his offer so he brought in a lawyer late this afternoon to work out the details of the agreement. He's hoping that will get resolved tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm leaving for Chicago tomorrow so I asked Carl Warren (CWarren) to help. Carl is a good friend and a trusted local business owner who is very active in the BMW community. Once we have the car, we will coordinate with Mike @ FFTEC for transport pickup.

If I get any updates I'll try to keep everyone in the loop. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Let me know if I need to have my legal office contact his lawyer to assist or contact the management office in addition to Chris's lawyer.

This is getting bad....

being a business owner myself I can guarantee you he did everything in his power to stay open.and cares enough to be returning phone calls ect to try and get erics car out of there most would just say make a claim and stand in line.

Something to the tune of $200k was stolen, and the insurance company only payed out $25k, which forced the doors to be shut. I want to give a huge handshake out to Chris though. We will surely miss him and his efforts, as well as his whole team
Rule #1 of any business, is make sure your accounting and financial controls are in place. Obviously they weren't, it's also probably why the insurance paid out so little

The issue is likely that his assets have been frozen and everything is on lock down until bankruptcy court begins.. as hard as this may be to swallow.. its very possible cars/parts/etc may be locked up for many weeks until you can prove ownership of the car and parts and have it released. This is in an attempt to keep all the assets from disappearing and being liquidated without the trustee.

There's a reason the track car, and drag car and big parts all likely disappeared the same day. I'm sure Chris is just as helpless at the moment as you all are. I'm not on his side, that's for sure but there is absolutely no benefit to him not giving back customers cars.. if he could he would I imagine.

If i can get the name of the management company, I could seriously affect this. My Legal office is waiting to take immediate action.

Props to Shiv and F-U to all the haters. I donate over $7K to charities annually so if I want to give something to the OP it's none of your business. GL and hope all works out for the best.
