hey man. If u still wnat to use ur laptop you should just try to fix it. Its not that hard to take apart the laptop. If u want some help let me know id be more than happy to help u out some.

in all honesty, buy a Mac.
HPs, especially the DVx line are garbage. I have three in the house and all of them have had issues.
