I experienced the same thing recently. I'll be interested to know what others say.

Bingo .. all the outputs from the stereo are individually volume adjustable (satnav lady, traffic reports, phone etc. )

Spot on. The volume adjustment is tied to the output that it in operation at that time. So when SatNav lady is speaking you are turning the volume down on her... and not the radio/CD so that you can hear her.

As above plus:

Even if you turn up the sat nav lady volume, if you have the volume turned up on your iPod (on the actual ipod itself - regardless of the Aux volume setting in the audio menu), then that will override her announcements.

This happened in my E60 loaner, so I turned the Aux volume to max, then turned the ipod's own volume to about two thirds max, and the sat nav lady to max, hey presto no problems; everything in balance. Note that this was via a normal aux lead, not via 6FL. The problem is that the ipod volume is independent and comes in and swamps the other settings if it's too loud.

Hope this helps - Happy Christmas!

Your dealer probably wouldn't have been able to help you anyway, without browsing the forum first.

I know for a fact, that a number of dealerships make good use of the UK forum, in order to find the answers to a lot of questions their e9x customers ask them.
