Drop in air intake?

Heyo, I am looking to get some roar from my 06 330i. I am not looking to get a full intake but rather just a drop in filter. Will that give its some sound around 3000rpms? Please help me out!

If you're looking for sound, I'd go with an Injen intake, installation is simple, and sound is incredible

2rpm is a constant rumble if you're steady at that rate

If you're accelerating, you hear a woosh sound at 2rpm, and it starts rumbling at 3rpm and screams at 4rpm

Price is fair, installation is easy and IMO it's worth it.. But if you wanna just drop in a filter, go for it, Not sure on it tho (sound wise)

INJEN, and the faulty AFE stage 2 open intake
some say they drone at 3-4k

If you dont want to spend $. Just replace the hose from airbox to throttle body with a silicone at about 80-83mm diameter. This will remove the air muffler and make it "drone" like the one Inmjen

Okay so is there no option for just an open cone filter that is not enclosed by a box?

A drop in filter will still be enclosed in the OEM air box...If you want sound then you're going to have to go with an open intake system like the Injen or AFE which has a cone. I've never tried replacing the hose before so I can't tell you anything about that.

Sorry , misread the question of the OP
Your drop in filter options are:
K&N oiled OEM replacemnt
AFE oiled OEM replacement
AFE dry OEM replacement
There will not change noise.

To add noise:
Cut out the charcoal filter
Think about making a hole in the airbox cover like DJ Apex euro mod thread
Change pipe from airbox to throttle body to a silicone one

search.

Yes it will add noise, performance needs a bit up too( from the kidneys there is 15% more air entering the box, you need to cut out the charcoal filter too to max flow .

BMW perf intake is so overpriced for what you get. I would spend that money on the the BMW perf exhaust instead since they don't have much of a difference in cost.

Maybe you should take your car to a person that knows a bit about it, or spend some time using the option on the forum.

All the intakes are easy to install.

I think you need to do your own research on this foreign topic of "intakes." Also, speak like an adult unless you are 15 years old, which it sounds like you are.

Also, a simple drop in filter to replace your OEM one will not make any "roar." If that is what you're looking for, invest in an open intake system such as the AFE or Injen.

Sorry but that's the dumbest excuse. Forum or not, learn to write and people will respect you. You might be on a forum but we're not your buddies being texted.
