i took a f-ton of pics during the install of the lux 5.0 with my G9. LOL @ 12 megapixels shots for DIY. i should probably resize, but still. also, i am curious to find out which luxeon LED components were used.

Edit: boo to attachment throttling anyway, i posted i have more pics if anyone is interested, bigger than 640 x 480 too lol.

I've never understood Lux rings; I guess I'll have to actually look at them to appreciate them, and find out what they are.

2.0? 5.0? Is that the diamater, in cm?

technically, Lux are just the LED lights behind the rings in the headlight cluster the X.0 just stands for different versions, or revisions. the 5.0's (marc's latest creation) are very well color matched to OEM HIDs, and pretty sufficiently bright - definitely much brighter than stock. the previous version, 4.0, was quite a bit more blue than these, it had a higher color temperature (5.0's have around 5500k and the 4.0's have around 8000k).

the whole point is just purely aesthetics. some folks seem to like it

i kinda like the contrast of having "yellower" angels

then again i try to keep the purely aesthetic mods to a minimum. i think i will leave it at aerolip and painted reflectors

lux rings do look nice though, as do hid fogs but i hate it when people drive around with their fogs on during the day or non-foggy or rainy night... no offense to anyone, just my opinion

i understand. cosmetic mods make resale more interesting, too. take how you feel about the OEM look of the angel eyes vs people who like the lux type look. i want to do a few mods, but nothing too wild. just some subtle things here and there, like a grill blackout. i just think that looks hot on jet black.

on a side note, i actually do not like HID fogs at allllll. im all about the nasty yellow (like 2300k) fogs. i thnk HID fogs are overkill, and the higher color temperature just spreads all over a wet surface. the yellow is a lower wavelength and sticks better in my opinion. and, i do agree, i only turn my fogs on when it's foggy or rainy out. i'm all about utility there.

There is a such thing as "high speed balancing" which involves to my knowledge a special balancing machine and things of which i dont think any dealerships really do but ive heard of it in the performance industry. I always say even though its more expensive that you guys should bring your cars to the dealerships or at least a good aftermarket BMW/german shop to have any work done instead of just some mom and pop tire shops or run of the mill tire shops because a honda doesnt work like a BMW. these cars are SUPER sensative to any type of balance issues as far as noises and things of the like go. if youd like me to check it out id be more than happy to take a little ride with you or something and if youd like you can bring the car into the dealership and have us balance them and check them out if indeed you do have a tire issue we can go from there. let me know how i can help man!
Thanks for your response man ... The place that I went to was a Goodyear dealership .. it was terrible, I still can't believe myself I let those guys touch my car .. They simply did regular balance.. I will definitely go to the dealership from now on. I have learned that the hard way .. I will wait until the new tires come and will mount and balance these in the dealership.

911, where were you after the game?? TN_3 and I met up in the garage and had a nice chat. I came back to the Boro tonight and took a few pictures on MTSU's campus. I'll post them up tomorrow sometime.

Glad you got the 5.0s installed uber. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Yes, tire rack is replacing the front two tires .. i balanced all 4 tires twice and the vibration is still there .. the tire place told me that it must be the tires .. i called tire rack to talk to a specialist and they said that they will send me a new set of front tires.
