Replacement air box and/or air filter
Just looking at upgrading some components on my car and was wondering if any of you guys have suggestions regarding aftermarket air boxes and or air filters.
Worth it? Which ones? Any issues? Thanks for the help! |

Not really worth going with either, BMW does a very good job when it comes to their intake systems. Do the Mr.5 box modification if anything. I personally use stock air filters or at least paper cone (I have AFE intake with dry filters on my M5), they filter a LOT more particles of dirt then a "K&N" style (cotton reusable) filter.

^ Also, K&N air filters use oil. Oil can gunk up the air flow meter which is a very thin wire and pretty expensive to replace.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
