Just FYI you can still take traffic school if you've already taken it beforeyour 18 month is up. For that you have to go to court and request for the 12hr traffic school. Catch is you have to do it in person and you cant do it online.

did you do this? i hear it still doesn't wipe the point off your record...if anyone has experience in this matter (doing the 12 hour schooling and getting a drivers report to check) please let me know!

"failure to obey sign" fml real good.

Doing the 12hr school DOES remove the point off your record, *BUT* it does not erase the ticket from your record.. so, your insurance company WILL see that you got a ticket. The only thing the 12hr is good for is if you want to erase the point on your record.

I have done 2 TBD and I only won 1 of them. the first was 47 in a 35 zone going down Angeles Crest at 5am in the morning, this is the one that I won. The other was 66 in a 55mph in Big Tuhanga.

So if you are local go to court and take care of your shit before you leave for school and things get inconvenient.

I think you can request extension on-line through the court system if I'm not mistaken.. try that

Personally win 8-9 from TBD but total of 15 so the chances is really high.
Highly recommend it.

Ticket Assassin is a scam. They just take your money and give you no help whatsoever. They also give you very generic forms.

The key thing to a TBWD is that you are betting on the fact that the cop will not respond....that's all. It's a gamble like going to contest it in court. You can say whatever you want, but the judge will take the cop's side 99.9% of the time.

That being said, I still think you should do a TBWD. Then go to court. I'm pretty sure if you see the cop show up, you can change your plea to guilty and get traffic school before the trial starts.

Do you have a sample letter? if so can you send me a copy to my email? billtang_2001@yahoo.com

I came here to get this thread alive after almost 2 years of no action. I got a ticket on June 2nd coming off the bridge that connects San Pedro and Long Beach (47). The officer said I was doing 75 in a 45 area...I couldn't talk my way out of that, he seemed to be having a bad saturday morning. Anyways, my bail is the ridiculous amount of $480. I accessed the court website and I can only extend 2 months... I would like to do a TBWD but I don't know how the exact process goes.

I hear ticket assassin and ticket clinic are scams? I would happily pay 200 or 300 bucks to Ticket Clinic if they can get me out of this and still have a clean record, anything below 480 + traffic school is good. By the way, how do I know if I am eligible for traffic school?

Thanks!

I'm currently using tickethitman.com. The court just received my TBWD and will be reviewing it in a couple weeks.

That amount sounds right.

After your extension, you can send in your bail amount and request TBD then. Then you will get another 2 months or so to mail that part in, officor will get 2 months to respond, then you get an answer for from the court.

Ticket clinic worked for me, and yeah they were only $200, and the guy actually goes to court for you.

http://www.ticketclinic.com/sem/locations.html

the ones that do a TBD for you are a waste of money and you can do that yourself.

good luck!

Thanks for your comments. I found tickethitman online but other than that it is the first time I hear about them.

As I said, IŽd happily pay 200 and be out of points, traffic school or the hassle of going to court.

@darkevo, what was your traffic violation? and how bad?

it was a gay 34 in a purposely set low 25 zone, (i thought the limit was 35 and saw the cop, and coasted by) Ticket was only $200 but it was principal, so I risked paying $200 instead to ticket clinic and they won it. Did not want the point.

I got another one, in the mazda, 84 in a 65, I don't think it can go that fast! Deciding weather to fight that via TBD or try ticket clinic again.
