Wheel Balancing Weights
Just had some new rear tires put on my 19x9.5 V710's yesterday, and I have a couple questions about the wheels weights for the balancing:
1. The drivers side has 11 weights on the outer portion and two on the inner portion of the wheel while the passenger side only has one on the outside portion. Should I take it back in and have them adjust the one wheel so 11 weights aren't necessary? Looks kind of rediculous. 2. I have matte black wheels, so the 11 silver weights stick out like a sore thumb. Has anybody painted these? What do you do to hide them? Thanks for the help. |

WAY too many weights IMO. Either a bad tire or a bad wheel but I'd tend to say it's a bad tire because VMR has a pretty good rep and your other wheels have a reasonable amount of balancing weight.
Get your wheels/tires road force balanced. It's the only way to go IMO. If your shop tells you otherwise, chances are they don't have a road force machine.

Well, I got the tires at Discount Tire Company. So I'm not sure if they have a road force machine or not. I was just thinking about going to another one and asking if there is something wrong with the tire or a way to get it better balanced without as many weights.
