might move to northwest

Hello, I might get a job offer that request me to move to Northwest. They haven't decided what state, but most likely it is going to be Seattle.
I am trying to live near Seattle airport, since I work at the airport.
What are the living expenses like to live in Seattle such as housing and etc?
How are the weather like do I really need to buy an AWD car?

I currently live in Atlanta, GA and drive a 335i. Lot of people recommended me to sell my car and buy a AWD car before I move up to north.

Thanks for the input!

Unless you've decided to become a skier and go up into the mountains every weekend, there is no need for AWD.

Seattle has become a fairly expensive city to live in. However, the airport area is a fair bit cheaper as far as rent goes.

The airport is in SeaTac which is between seattle and tacoma. The closer you are to Tacoma the cheaper it is. There are a lot of nice places to live north of seattle as well. We got snow like twice this year. I prefer awd for how often it rains. I enjoy not spinning my tires everywhere.

Definitely don't need AWD. I came from Michigan where it was needed. I'm in shorts and rockin' the 335i on weekends in winter.

If you're living near the airport, Renton would be a good place to look into for housing. If your budget is higher, then Seattle/Bellevue works.
