Whites only' basketball league announced

The Augusta Chronicle reported on Tuesday that the All-American Basketball Alliance plans to kick off its inaugural season in June and hopes that Augusta will be one of 12 cities to host teams.

But here's the kicker: According to a press release the newspaper and other Augusta media outlets received from the new league, "only players that are natural-born United State citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league."

I don't see what the big deal is, except they probably shouldn't call themselves "All-American". People normally wouldn't have an issue with other groups/clubs etc., such as Chinese Student Association or something. You wouldn't go and say "OMG you guys are racist to exclude whites, blacks, etc. etc.".

yeah, it'll be kinda like the inverse of if you goto a math, physics or o-chem class at any top ranked university in the US---typically don't see a lot of "natural born' americans in those

Oh yes they would. I can think of a club for just about every race at my university except for Caucasians.

Exactly. If Chinese club is ok then why not Caucasian American club? It doesn't necessarily mean they hate everyone else.

Because when White Americans congregate, it's a racist klan meeting but when members of other origins congregate, they're embracing their culture

I'm asian btw and yea I think there's a double standard for White Americans in terms of being able to form groups. Sucks you guys can't form some club without catching flak or renaming it something else...
