Interval service question
I brought my car to the dealership because my service interval indicator showed I was due for rear brakes. BMW returned the car and said I did not need brakes and reset the interval. I always thought the maintenance was done at the interval regardless. Am I wrong?

An interval is really more like an estimated guess check, excluding things like oil that need replacement every X thousand miles regardless. If you haven't been putting the mileage on/the pads aren't worn sufficiently, the tech isn't going to replace them even if the car's internal clock says they should be looked at. My car is telling me it'll want to be serviced in Jan, though it was taken in for unrelated work in October, and plugs/fluids were changed out...so I kinda doubt anything will get replaced.
