There is no arguement that the TTs is fast for a car having 268BHP. There is no arguement that the TT RS in indeed fast too.

There is no arguement that the modified TT RS is stupidly quick however accurate the figures been posted are. He is making easy work of fast cars.

Here is another record breaking car. The fastest stock turbo Nissan GTR and with the time again set at Crail.

How pee'd off would you be if you just bought a spanking r8! lol

But,

It seems alot of the advantage is of the line, launch control is impossible to contend with.

Any idea of 30/40 rolling start vs 335i, more real world than race track IMO = more interesting/relevant
In standard trim I doubt a 335i will match the RS no matter how fast you go.

Can't see that being the case with the TTs though.

What time/mph did it run.

With cobb on its own you can get 600HP.

This is a cobb tuned one at Santa Pod, but I have no idea about the spec of any of the cars.

11.6 at 119MPH which is identical to the TT RS at Crail.

In what guise mate? Standard or modded?

You would need to be running meth + FBO to stick it to a modded TTRS when rolling. Against a modded S-Tronic one I wouldn't like to say..

Stage 1 GTR should be cracking 120+ @ Pod and doing low 11's. But that chap wasn't using any sort of launch control and would of been losing a fair bit off the line..
Mitchy's TTRS would do around 117-118mph @ Pod IMO. Not the 120mph he has seen @ Crail. Still be well in the 11's though..

That "GODZILLA" plated GT-R was at the ring when we went in 2009 wasn't it?

Remember this http://caldermotor.co.uk/cgi-bin/det...?v_vin=K1200HP

It's been on sale for years now and still not sold. Started off at 50k too.

For all the stories floating around CRD, this was a bloody quick car.

The engine in this car is a absolute peach and unless you have a 335i running close to 450bhp, you will lose! That's against a manual TTRS, I wouldn't even bother against a modded S-Tronic one unless you are testing top speeds and have SERIOUS mods!!!
They are a mini GTR and not to be underestimated by any means. S-Tronic + 4WD + Launch Control is a serious tool..

A S-Tronic TTS will sit with a 335i all day long IMO until silly speeds. The 2.0TFSI is another peach of an engine and when coupled with S-Tronic/DSG becomes even better.
Thanks Ben

But you have forgotten that I have actually driven one (TTS) and I didn't find it that quick at all. Sounded lovely.

I can imagine how it might feel a bit limp compared to your car, for a turbo it is quite revvy and only has 256lb/ft but holds that right up to the redline

The bark off the 5 cylinder engine in the RS is lovely.

Can't say I noticed anything special about the S.

Hi,

Dont know if this is me, or were I live. But I seem to find muppets in Focus ST/RS and Megan Sports etc - always trying it on. However I am not prepaired to lose my licence - so I get to the speed limit - but you see them shoot pass - doing well over. WHY! I want to keep my licence. Also I notice that they driving like idiots and "dangerous" - I am sorry but as I said I want to keep my licence. Yes I would like to prove my point - however the roads are not an race track.

I did not get no ware neer much attention when I had my E46 330d.

I have found the complete opposite, always used to people trying to race when I had my E46 325i, but as that wasnt a quick car I wouldnt even entertain it as I would of got cained.

Now, I hardly ever get it, especially if the car comes from behind and see's the 335i badge.

I'm embarrassed looking back how I behaved when I was young on the road.

Always something to prove driving my souped up hot hatch. Not as bad as many, but still pretty stupid.

At least I can say I was never involved in any accidents.

Now it's rarely someone bothers me at all. Don't often get someone trying to get me to have a go. Not that I would in many circumstances now.

The only thing I don't like about driving a BMW other road users are more aggressive towards you. Far less people will leave you room or let you out of a space.
