Question Need a little help with Exhaust???

After a few days of searching couldnt really find much on just replacing the stock muffler. I heard a few magnaflow soundclips and would like to swap out the mufflers not sure what muffler to go with.. either the 12158 or the 14218. The 14218 comes with the $995 system from magnaflow. Saw a member on here use the 12158 for a dual setup, sounded awesome!. Just curious if anyone has pics or suggestions for a muffler replacemnt. Thanks guys

Open to suggestions on mufflers. I would like one where I dont have to cap one side.

go with the Top Speed pro 1 muffler, Remus sport, or RE Ikon.

if you want just a muffler swap, those would be the best bang for your buck. sounds great and not too loud. its a good deep tone.

I think the cheapest muffler that has a nice tone would be the top speed from ebay and just delete the res while you're at it

I would be interested if I had an extra 1200 to blow or whatever it costs. Im trying to stay cost efficient since this mod really doesnt translate to much performance gains...

any muffler, be it the top speed - 300 shipped plus about 90 for installation. then delete the res.

Ikon- same thing just a little more pricey. or the Remus.

Bump. I would be interested in finding more about this. The top speed says it is adjustable like the Remus....I don't want anything loud...just something more akin to the sound of an e46 330.....

yea the valves are adjustable... but to be hoenst you dont need them. I had the shop weld mine open. (so they are permanently open) and it is not loud at all. it can be quiet when you want it to, but sporty/deep when you want it. its perfect in my opinion.

Remus is very similar just even more conservative. and the Ikon is a little raspier. the top speed is in between the two... best of both worlds for 300 shipped.

cant beat that.

i've been thinking about getting the magnaflow 14815, cheap as hell and sounds good too (according to soundclips i've heard)

here's a thread with a soundclip

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...agnaflow+14815

haven't looked into it much but looks like its by far the best bang for the buck muffler mod, after muffler delete of course

Waste of money in my opnion. Best mod ever? Not for performance. If you want some extra power and make it sound good. Just get a Magnaflow tip, delete the muffler and resonator and get a Burger Tuning juice-box.

with the res and muffler delete the only power increase youll feel is from weight loss... there is actually a loss of power when you delete the muffler. loss in low end tq especially. Which for our cars is extremely crucial...

however res and muffler rids you about 50 or so pounds... but its not worth the sacrifice in power.
