OEM bmw battery charger?
Hi Guys,
I rememeber seeing a oem bmw battery charger in the dealership sometime back, it had a cigi lighter socket, so does it charge through the cig lighter socket? are they good enough? i hardly been driving my car lately & also got the interior detailed that has lead to the low battery warning Thanks.. |

Saw a Ctek BMW branded one, bought Ctek 7000 as BMWs cant charge through the 12 volt socket as ignition needs to be on I fitted socket in boot direct fused to battery.

It's basically a CTEK charger.
Only charges through the cig lighter if you have one in the boot that is specially made for it as its' connected to the battery. The one inside the car only has power when the car is running so won't charge normally. I brought the cig adapter hoping to have easy access to charging the car. But I do it through the engine bay now instead. |

I have 12v in boot, but that one doesn't provide power when ignition is on position, only if the car starts then its 'live' to charge.
Charging depends how flat the battery is. Normally 3-5 hours should do. But depends on your charger. |

have you tried putting the car in accessory mode? hitting the start button without pressing brake/clutch?
