Injen Intake Question

Hey guys, just curious for all those who have an N55 335xi E92 and have an Injen Intake installed, do you guys like it? I dont know why, but for some reason, i installed it the other day and have been driving for a few days, but when at a read light and then i start to drive by slowly pressing the gas pedal, i sounds like it takes in so much air and it just sounds as if something is wrong with the car, not sure if thats the way its supposed to be but i followed all instructions when installing, so I am not sure.

Please let me know guys.

Completely normal man. It sounds like a surge of air but that's because the sound is amplified. I took mine out after a while because I didn't like the piping and was rubbing my hood.

Not sure how leaking air sounds like lol, if i did, i'd be able to answer my question if i installed it properly or not lol

but yea, it does sound like a surge of air, i dont know if i like that, because when in NY, nothing but read lights, but my car sounds as if its inhaling a whole lot of air for those first 3 - 5 seconds, depending on how fast i accelerate.

Thats what a turbo sounds like when it is spooling up, its louder now because of the open air filter under the hood. Completely normal.

its normal. once you get the hang of your pedal you can actually control the sound lol. you need to adjust the piping if its rubbing against anything. i have the full injen intake where it goes from left to the right of the engine. i have no rubbing or problems.

Hey guys, well I unfortunately did have rubbing, so I adjusted it and i think that there is no more rubbing, but unfortunately there is a deep "scratch" on it now at one point where the hood met the pipe. I like the injen as well, BUT that sound is killing me.

BUT, what I have found out the other day is that when I am on Map 0, i barely have this sound issue, but when I am in Map 1 or Map 2 on my JB4, thats when the sound kicks in, its seriously so freakin annoying.

I was in Map 2 this morning, driving at 80mph and keeping steady at around 2.5rpm and i hear that freakin sound, it so annoying lol so i had to turn it to Map 0 just to enjoy the quiet ride in the morning lol

This is true. It's like that for me too, Map 0 and it sounds normal, Map 1 I hear it sucking in so much more air at such lower RPM's. This is what made me keep my JB4 on map 0 when I'm just doing everyday normal driving. Cuz it shows that even during normal acceleration the JB4 is making your turbo work more than it's supposed to. Which I don't mind, i'm just trying to put less extra wear and tear into my turbo if it's not needed....

Do you need to reprogram the ECU when changing the intake?
