Injen CARB certification
I known Injen says the intakes are now (or should be) CARB approved, but I'm seeing a difference in stickers between various owners here (specifically in the sale threads).
I am wondering if someone recently bought an Injen (wrinkle black, not that it should matter) for the 335i and can confirm it has the CARB sticker on it.

If you're worried you can check here:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php It's there as I remember, as well as the EO#. |

2007-2009 BMW 335i (excludes 2007 & 2008 LEV2, SULEV, test groups 7BMXV03.0N51 and 8BMXV03.0N51) 3.0L 6 Cyl.
So what does that exclusion list mean? edit: To follow up, this doesn't make any sense. If the exclusion means it's not CARB certified, why even have 2007 and 2008 listed, since we have LEV2 vehicles.

That is a good question. My computer was crashing when I tried to open and search. Thanks for finding what I was going to look for. I know SULEV is for 328 right? I'm not sure about LEV2 but I think this exclusion is for N51 engines. See the end of the group 7xxxxxN51 and 8xxxxN51. Since it doesn't even fit the 328s I think this is just a clarification statement.

Well the 335i is LEV2. I emailed Injen, hopefully they will give an honest answer and not some vague reply.

My wife's friend's husband has a 1000hp Porsche. I immediately went to the back of the car and looked at his tags. I don't think there is a CARB EO number for everything he's done to his car...
I think as long as you pass the visual inspection, the mods don't usually cause more pollution and you can pass the "sniffer's" nose. |
