CEL When Cranking
Just did an oil change (Mobil1 0w40), installed KN filter, changed spark plugs and topped off coolant. I get the CEL when the engine cold cranks but when it turns over the CEL goes away. This does not happen during warm starts. Is there anything I should be worried about?

Check for air leaks on your intake or vacuum hoses. Other than that you could try resetting the ECU or adaptive throttle since you just did plugs and the airfilter.
Not sure if unhooking the battery for an hour or overnight actually works, or if the throttle reset does either but it cant hurt. |

You need to have the computer scaned to see why that code came up. That will tell you the real story. I had that happen once for a cam position sensor and it went away by itself.

My 06 330xi has the same problem during the cold winter months. It comes on and off sporatically when i don't warm up the car long enough and drive off shorty afterwards. It doesn't come on during the summer though and my dealer says they've scanned and one checks but can't find anything wrong with the car.
