FS Brand New OEM LCI Alpine Audio Upgrade Kit

Hi All,

I have for sale the LCI version of the Alpine Audio Upgrade pack (Part No. 65 41 2 163 268) in an unopened box ready to go. Suits both 1 Series and 3 Series.

I could say it's an unwanted gift (and it sorta is) but I initially was going down the Alpine upgrade path so purchased this pack until my friend convinced me to instead go fully aftermarket with amp and speakers (bad idea IMO). After much angst I finally got the aftermarket kit to work so I no longer need the Alpine kit.

Price is $500 delivered to eastern states of Australia.

Thought I would put it up here before it goes up on ebay.

Regards,

Tim

FYI this kit is still up for sale. I will be putting it up on ebay at the end of the week if nobody from here has picked it up before then.

Hi all, just letting you know that I have reduced the price down to $450. Remember this is BRAND NEW and I have not yet even opened the box. I can provide full receipts etc.

Cheers,

Tim

Think it's for LCI.

Tim, would love to get it. But after reading the DIY, it's abit on the too hard basket for me. Also read that LCI subs are 2ohm vs the amp 4ohm which will put the stress on the amp.

If anyone knows where I can get this installed for a slab, this be gone already too!

Hello Rayz, just a technical correction for you on your post- the LCI subs are NOT 2ohm, the basic kit are 4ohm and therefore perfectly matched to the amp- this is why BMW released this kit- to update the basic stereo package ("stereo package"). I assume you read somewhere that all Logic7 subs are 2ohm, which they are, and incorrectly connected this to LCI for some reason. Note pre and post LCI audio systems are identicle from a hardware point of view.

Also on the DIY path- each to their own, I find this upgrade very simple indeed, as have many others (which convinced me to do an audio upgrade in the first place) so it really depends on whether you can follow instructions or not .

Cheers, Tim

Tim, I actually read on the forums that they are recommending getting L7 subs as they are 4ohm whilst the stock subs are 2ohm. I'll look for that thread again to confirm and will stand corrected if I've misintepreted.

Agree that DIY is different to each person; I just think it may take me 3x the time to do this . Maybe I could do this over the Christmas break hmnnnnnn...

The subs for the standard audio system in the E90 LCI is 4 ohm. I replaced mine and the sticker on the back of the original subs says that it is 4 ohm.

yeah labour was expensive because it was the first one they have ever done and the installer took nearly 2 days to do it... or so they told me

Yeah just checked mine, also 4ohm. I believe it's the "Hifi" model in the US that comes with the 2ohm version. The Hifi model fits in between the stereo and Logic7 system and includes an amp and some additional speakers over the stereo system. I think this is standard kit for the US post 2011 or something like tht, unfortunately we never had the option in Aus.
