LED License Plate Lights
Came in today installed today. But not quiet, the error message popped up, this week-end will have to solder in the resistors. As for brightness they are brighter then OEM, I think that my LP looks like a billboard now lol.
OEM (not sepia effect) LED on the left OEM on the right Full LED Billboard LOL |

hey man
thats really clean if u have stuff done to ur rear, the leds in my opinion will make them stand out more, cuz tahts a really bright rear end of a car lol but overall, look real clean, cuz u dont really notice the oem ones, so the LEDs must be a new look congrats how much did u get em for? and u installed urself i presume? |

ah, why would u want to have a brighter light for license plate? so you want a cop or a witness to catch your license # clearly after u did something illegal?

i have LED for my trunk too, u dont need to solder any resistors, just get a set of resistors from radioshack; $2 for a pair! and then roll the wires around the contact points (you hook it and twist it around the 2 holes) The LED bulb still fits. took me like 2 minutes for both. PM me for more details if u dont know what i mean

Sorry for late reply guys, been busy preparing for finals next week.
LED are from eBay, these are High Power 1 watt, when lit they produce an even 180 degree light, unlike traditional LEDs that make pointed, uneven beams. These are cheapest on eBay, if you find cheaper let me know. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1pc-3...2517QQtcZphoto As for DIY, there are plenty, like this one (even made to Master List) Courtesy of RikuE90 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33362 The picture to remove the LP Light itself is here (scroll down) Courtesy of BMW330E90 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=28 |

Rostic, I use LED on the trunk too. You don't even need a resistor at all to put the warning sign off. What I did is splice the + terminal of the licence plate bulb with the + terminal on the parking light (left / right doesn't matter). Multimeter is helpful to find the + side.
Resistor will produce extreme heat. I don't think it's a good idea to put it inside the trunk cavity. Too much soft parts that might get burnt in there (cables, plastic, carpet cover, etc).
