Who uses auto on a DSLR to take car pictures? Why not just stick to a point and shoot?

Here is my best so far of the 335is. Nikon D300S, 18-200 VR lens, Aperture priority f16 (for big depth of field), 3 shot exposure bracket, and HDR processing.

What do you mean by specific day? I decided to go to the state park on this day and it happened to be extremely foggy. Less than 100ft visibility. In general just follow the usual suggestion of shooting in the evening and try to avoid when the sun is high in the sky.

I uploaded these pictures before but I am just enjoying this car so much that I need to share again. And few tips as well.
sigma 10-20mm studio strobes as many as you can get(it's never too many) Off camera flash reflector Dark spot away from street lights with working plug for your lights or portable battery for them( I always shoot in the dark ..that way I am in total control of the light) Camera set between f14-18 at iso 100 tripod (if you don't have enough lights you might need to stack couple of images ) feel free to ask for some more |
