Odd Smell from Fan/AC when car is started

Starting about 1 month ago, every time i start the car, for about 2 min, the vents blow air that smells like plastic band-aids. It's not a awful smell, but it's strong and off-putting. In fact, when people ride in the car, they'll say "Why does it smell like band-aids?" (I guess Johnson & Johnson has a smell niche).

It stops after a few minutes, or if i roll the windows down. And it'll make the smell as long as i park the car for about 4-6 hours. A friend of mine thinks it's just the plastic smell of new parts (the car is 5 months old), but it's not a very "new car"-type smell.

What would you guys do? Take it in to the dealer? Or live with it until it goes away?

(Since this is loosely electronics related, I'm putting this question in the Audio/Video forum)

Are you using A/C in LA these days ? Can be a mould built on the A/C evaporator. I covered a similar problem here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...9&postcount=24
