difference between e90 and e92 exhaust?

Can anyone tell me the difference?

I bought a Dinan exhaust for my e90 that I have just decided to sell because I bought an e92 with a manual. I guess there is no chance the e90 Dinan will fit the e92 is there?

I looked at them side by side on Realoem and they look identical but the rear muffler part number is slightly different: 18307566942 for the E92 and 18307566941 on the e90. The other part numbers are the same.

If anyone knows the difference please chime in...

It's only pipe length that's different. So from e90 to e92 you'll have to cut off some metal, vice versa you have to add piping.

Ok...I thought that the e92 was actually slightly longer than the e90. Maybe I can email Dinan and ask them...

a tad short or a tad long wont be an issue for an exhaust shop. if your going to do it in your garage you prolly need everything exact but if your taking it to a shop they can cut or weld up another 8-10 inches no problem.

Don't think that e92's have resonators either.

I emailed Dinan and they said "the inlet tubing is shaped differently as well as the hanger brackets". I don't want something hacked up under there.

I guess I will be selling it...anyone want a Dinan exhaust for their e90 for $700?

If length is the only difference it shouldn't make much of a difference since you will need to measure where the mid pipe lines up first. Might be a good idea to hold it in place or remove the original exhaust and mount it temporarily on the hangers before cutting anything to see how it lines up

It is slightly different, but it can definitely be done. Its not like its come drastic irreversible modifications to your car. In your case, the exhaust will be a little short but an reputable shop who knows what they are doing can handle it.
