Help.... matte black grill installation

I looked at the DIY, did everything... except one screw from the stasche on the hood won't come out... I think another user had this problem. But it seems like the bolt that is ontop of the hood and inside the stache doesn't hold its place so the bolt and the screw just keep spinning.

The screw is not stripped! Anybody else had this problem? If so, any recommendations on how to fix it? Thanks!

My last resort =>.... snap the stache in half and get a clamp to hold the nut securely while I unscrew the screw from the bottom.... but then i don't want to have a broken stache stuck on my car

I just did this install yesterday. Shove a flat head screwdriver under the head of the torx screw, turn the screw and pry down on the screwdriver creating friction...the screw will come out that way.

Once you get the screws out, remove the thread lock (blue stuff) from around the threads and you won't have that problem when you put them back on.

I have this same issue right now, and I tried creating friction, but nothing will budge. Anybody have any other tips? If I just break the screw, can I find replacements at any old hardware store?

If you break the screw, there will still be a piece of it left in the hole. Keep trying to create the friction, otherwise you could always krazy glue it.

Same thing happened to me, and after a while I just gave up and glued the last section on, and I haven't had any problems with it yet.

I had it happen to mine during the install. I didn't want to super glue my car so I got some blue rubber bands and wrapped them between the hood and the screw that was still sticking out a bit. Worked like a charm. probably cost you $2

Really? For some reason I can't picture that. Are they at all visible or is there any gap?

Well either way, if it works for you, nice going.

yeah so the inner most screws hang down a bit and won't go in any further. There was enough of a gap to put a rubber band in there. I thought it was a pretty clever fix
