I agree that it looks cheap with the BBS and I prefer the OEM wheels

Ancient thread, but I'd go with the 189s too.

Generally, I prefer aftermarket wheels to stock. The 189's and the M3 19's are the best OEM, IMO. However, in most cases, the weight and performance of a quality aftermarket wheel are better than the OEM. Styling is up to the individual.

In your case, the reps look like, well, reps. You get what you pay for. That stepped lip really kills it and it looks garish. Kind of pimpish. That is not to say that a different set of aftermarket rims wouldn't look better than the 189's.

Maybe if they were bigger? 19's? I think 20's are too much for these cars in most cases. Since you have the tints and black trim, maybe a set of black advans with the silver lip?

Prefer the OEM wheels. The other ones make the car look cheap/ugly. Not every "cool" or "exclusive" aftermarket accessory will make your car look better.

everyone hating on the reps and lm's, allow me to extend my personal bitchslap to all you. do some research, and learn that bbs rims forges wheels for performance more than just aesthetics. noobs.

The concavity and spokes gives a sportier look, I will get a VMR wheel over a rep LM! I like concavity more than deep lip!

The OP's question was specifically about looks.

And let me offer a bitchslap back at you for suggesting that ugly accessories are OK because they are made for performance.

The honest truth is that the 189's does indeed look better, flows better. But it only matters on how you feel.
