Winter Wheel and Tire Choice

Hey guys, I have a 07 E90 328i with sports package and currently on OEM 17s on RFTs. I'm a newbie when it comes to buying winter wheels and tires. Looking to buy a brand new set. For the tires i narrowed it down to blizzaks or dunlops non-rft from tirerack. I'm confused about what rims to buy that would look good on a AW E90. My options are:

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...lar=Base+Model

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Ri...ht_2786wt_1282

OR Any BMW OEM replicas, but can't find any websites that sell them for a decent price.

What do you guys think? Thanks!!!

I'd get the ones from Tirerack.

We have had very good experience and feedback with the Bremmer line of wheels. Even though my opinion is obviously biased, it would seem to make more sense to trust a name brand wheel sold by a reputable company rather than a mystery replica wheel sold by an Ebay seller. Just my $.02....

thanks for the advice.

Do you recommend Rial Salerno or Como for a AW E90 328i on 17s, don't know what will look better. Currently on OEM 161.

I've got the same setup as you: sports package and 17's. If you are willing to sacrifice a bit of handling, why not go with a 16" package? You can save yourself a good bit of money. I have the Sport Edition F10 wheels and Dunlop Wintersport 3D 205's. 205 is actually the standard non-sport package tread width. Sure, you give up some handling from the 255/225 treadwidth in the sport package, but its not as bad as you might think. Plus, the smaller wheels and tires are a huge weight reduction that you can feel, especially in acceleration.

i was actually debating 18s and 17s, and decided to go with the 17s. I was thinking of 16's but they look too small for my liking. Definitely alot cheaper for a set up for the 16's.

Having second thoughts, found a set of 162s for cheap. Has anyone ever had a problem running 18s on a e90 328i in the winter?

Its a bit of a stretch but still within the recommended rim with range to use 235/35R19 front and rear which opens up winter tire options.

Im in the same boat here, just bought my e90 as well. Took it out in snow today..... I need winter rims and tires lol. Thinking of just buying the cheap clearance set from tire rack and then some good tires.... I dont understand the rim size sticky, all the numbers make my head hurt so looking CL is challenging.

I jus ordered the Rial Salerno's today with Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D 225/45/17 from TireRack. Was looking to get VMRs but no vendor replied so just went with TireRack's wheels and heard a lot of good stuff about them.

I had a quick question about the wheel lock nut, i read online you have to use the TireRack lug nuts, is there any alternative for the wheel lock nut since OEM won't fit. Don't feel safe without them.

The lugs we send with the wheels are only a couple mm longer than the OE lugs, so you could use one OE wheel lock on each wheel without a problem.

Thanks, I was about to buy McGard Whel Locks, but I'll just use my original wheel locks.
