carbon fiber roof

hi guys, im new on this site but have been on m3 cutters for some time now, i am in the process of manufacturing carbon roofs for the e46 coupe, i have alot of experience in the carbon industry and techniques, i have my own company who designs and produces custom carbon bathroom suites and kitchens. So since i have an m3 i wanted to do some custom parts for it which is now going to be including a carbon roof,

so with this in mind i thought i would gauge the reaction of the e9x croud to see if any one would be interested in carbon roofs for the e9x. if so i will get onto it for you guys and get one on the go while i do my roof.

look forward to the feed back guys,

I like the M3 carbon roof... However, I also love my moon roof. If you can make a carbon roof that supports the moon roof, you'll have my interest.

It think it will come down to pricing as the previous poster mentioned their is an oem carbon roof on the m3 (which i believe will fit all e9x) however it does not have a moon roof cutout.

I dont care about the moon roof. But one thing to consider is the install. I remember in Creaminz thread he had this done and the install was VERY extensive and difficult.

Price anything right and it will sell (:

Replacing the roof in general is extremely time consuming (CF or not). My roof replacement alone took the shop over a week and a half, for what it's worth (not including paint and trim replacement -- simply cutting out the old roof and welding the new one in took something like 50 hours).

Damn! That must have cost a pretty penny. What were you replacing it for? Damage? CF? Moonroof?

Hail damage. Total was a bit under $16,000, and almost 9 weeks in the shop. Roof took the longest out of all the panel replacements.

He also had a problem with comfort access because of the install if I recall.

So you can make me a carbon fiber toilet seat?

That would look great in my Man Cave bath...

Don't want to sound sarcastic but I think that shop took more time in doing everything on your car

They did, true, but even the "in a perfect world" lowball insurance estimate allotted something like 25 hours for the roof replacement. Took them around double the time because they didn't have their shit together, but even 25 shop hours is not quick.
