Problem with end links after coilovers installs

Has anybody had issues with their end links after installing coilovers?

There is a thread in the suspension section which suggests that this isn't that uncommon:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=880875

I have been getting the clunking sound since my install and my local mechanic verified over the weekend that my front right end link needs to be replaced.

If you had this problem, did you buy longer extended end links such as these:

http://store.vacmotorsports.com/powe...sets-p103.aspx

Or did you stick with the stock BMW ones, just longer?

My car did the exact same thing. The links are the wrong length (depending on how much you lower it) and preload the sway bar.

They make adjustables and they don't break the bank, just need to load up the suspension and figure out how long of a link you need.

I had this issue when I installed lowering springs on my G35 coupe. You definitely need to install some adjustable end links. You can install yourself or just have a shop do it.

Thanks for the links, since Turner is relatively close they can probably set us up with the proper end link

When you guys had your new end links installed, did you need to do another alignment?

I am all good now!

Now that I am no longer clunking, I can say that adding the coilovers is well worth it and I am hitting myself for not doing it sooner.
