What were you thinking. It bothered you there was a coin in there that could have been glued. Or just pull the panel off and simply remove. But it don't bother you to cut into your door in an area thats exposed to the elements. Now go spend some money and buy some paint to seal the bare metal you just created....

WTH?? Nobody told you to mutilate your car... That hole is there for drainage, so drainage has water passing through it. With water, exposed metal will rust. I said the last resort would've been to pull the insulation panel, but I honestly think NOBODY expected the "dead last" resort of sawing it open...
Until then, I think this thread ranks up there with M3 + sock in terms of fallacy of logic.

Whatever you do, don't block the inside seam with any paint or undercoat. Get the repair done properly.
Damn! You couldn't live with a glued coin in your door so you do this? Not only does it look like shit but you've compromised the factory paint/rust proofing and drainage. If anything, this is what would be making me lose sleep. Good luck. |
