Arrow N54 Total Engine Rebuild & Upgrade - big carbon buildup / burnt piston / bearing wear

Hi all

Have started a thread on the UK Technical forum about a total rebuild and upgrade of my N54 engine. Everything from pistons and conrods to a baffled oil sump and completely ported, polished and blueprinted head...

Plenty of pictures as the thread develops over the next few days.

You have no idea!!

Been working on the engine, commissioning an proper high-performance aluminium radiator, manufacturing an automatic transmission cooler, designing custom pipework... all I can say is that it will be a proper engine...! And all that is left to do is to figure out the dry-sump conversion and lower the engine in the bay a little

fantastic, glad someone is finally building an engine for these cars.

looking forward to your progress.

what are your plans to reduce/eliminate the carbon buildup? It looks pretty severe in that one picture
