Walnut blasting coming soon for sure.

Thanks for the pics.

Love those Evo's. Was it faster straight line than your 335??
Yup I'm due up for a walnut blast myself. Luckily the car is CPO (only a year left) so I was able to get the history on the car.

Yeah the Evo was fully built 2.0 pushing 28psi on a 35r so the xi is definitely slower but what the xi lacks in speed made up for it in the luxury things, ie nav/leather/comfort access...

Gotta love comfort access. I absolutely love this car. Love the lines, the interior. Nicest car I've ever owned and finally a real 'fast' car. Closest I had was my '01 GTI GLX VR6. lol

Yeah, apparently the previous owner never had issues with the dealer finding out about the JB4. I think he puts it on map 0 so they never detects it. The exhaust is axle back so no fuss from them either.

How do you like the exhaust? I'm wondering if Cat Back will sound different than an axle back? Looking at a used Borla 'suitecase' axle back exhaust in the used/for sales section. It's a great price.

Probably will sound louder with a full exhaust vs. axle back. I love mine as I'm tired loud exhausts (I wouldn't want it any louder than what it is now). Mine is loud at start up for about 1 min and completely quiet at idle after. It's sounds great cruising and under WOT.

stash,

I have a 335 xi coupe and was thinking about either eibach or H & R lowering springs. I just don't want the cupping in the rear. I was thinking of just changing the front springs and leaving the stock rears because there is only one inch of clearance in the rears anyway and doesn't look that bad. What are you thoughts?

That was a thought when the shop showed me how it looked. I considered putting the OEM springs back in but they said it all measured proper in terms of the jack points.

If I had the opportunity to go back and do it again I would go with the bilstein/Eibach setup. OR better yet....just get some KW's and set it however I want.

I did put on some 18" wheels yesterday and the rear can up quite a bit which was a nice surprise.

Check it out...

I'll post a pic in a minute.

Couple pics with 18" wheels now on the car. The camber and dump in the rear surprisingly went away quite a bit. Very pleased!

H&R springs & Koni's

I had the same issue on an e36 M3 years ago and cut 1/2 coil off the front springs with a dremel tool, that did the trick.

So kinda the same question as was initially asked, I have a 2008 335xi and I have a tire/wheel setup of wheels: BE by Breyton GTS-AV Black Painted and are 18x8 with
Offset: 35mm Backspacing: 5.90" and Bolt Pattern: 5-112 tires: 245/40R18 Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Blackwall. Obviously I need a 5-120 Bolt setup but was wondering if this combination would work any better with a pattern converter of if I need to buy a new setup.
Thanks!

This thread is pretty good, thanks for posting the pics . . my question is @ 90K Miles. . would it be more cost effective to go w/ Bilstein/Eibach/H&R setup rather than the KW's. I would love to get the KW's but I'm more than likely never going to adjust it just set it and forget it. & the KW's @ ~1500-1600 would it be cheaper to go w/ the Bilstein/Eibach /H&R setup? I guess I'm trying to justify the Bilsten’s paired w/ a spring due to the long-term Bilstein reputation; not that KW doesn’t build a superior product

If you're really concerned about ride height and want to get it 'just right'... I'd get KW's.

Everyone is different in regards to how the car looks when it settles. These would allow you to instantly change anything that didn't look right to you.

Have you considered using a thicker spring pad to raise the rear?

Are there thicker pads available for e9x cars? I know there were for E36 but when I looked for e9x I could not find any.

Another solution is TCK sells a rear coil over spring conversion kit. Just the adjustable perch part and a piece to replace the upper rubber button thing. Like $160. Not sure if it would fit stock spring diameter but rear C-O springs are not very expensive.

edit: the other thing WRT H&R springs, I got the impression there was no difference between XI and non XI. A fake part # on a box but the actual springs and numbers on them are indistinguishable. If that is the case then the H&R's will suffer from the same problem other non-XI lowering springs do when used on the XI, the front lower spring perch is higher relative to it's location on non XI. I have read 12-15 mm. So it'll always sit a bit higher in front. Extra weight offsets some of that but not all, so you get 1/4" or so.

I ended up going with the HP adjustable rear upper perches with swift springs, thrust sheets and oem bearings. Raised it up just right and I can always adjust now.

Have left the front alone as it seems good. Do need t swap bump stops.
