iPod Question (noob content)

I cant believe I'm asking such a noob question, but here it goes.

Just picked up a 07 e93 328i today

So it came with iPod integration... there is a plug for the ipod in the glove box. When I connect the ipod, it shows the BMW logo but I cant go select songs and such from the screen. I went to the AUX input menu too.

Anyone know what to do?

Rock on with the cabrio! Anyways you have a dealer installed iPod kit and I have no idea how does work. I know if you have the i-drive there is something to the left of aux AFTER you select the first AUX(The one next to FM, AM, SAT). Should drop a level and maybe you can select your aux sources there? I hope that works for you. If not fail me

hmmm... Just sort of figured it out... if i select CD 6 it goes to the ipod.

CD1 thru CD 6 should provide different views of the iPod.

Just another question. Do all of you with the 6FL option get the BMW logo on the ipod screen when connected? Becuase i dont. I only get the apple logo. Is it because mine is not an i-Drive one?

thats weird, ive never heard of such a scenerio, you usually just have to go to AUX to access the ipod, thats how mine and everyone elses works.

I do not have iDrive and I don't get any customized logo.

i have the 6FL and no bmw logo...would he nice tho

Mine has BMW logo as well - don't think that's an indicator of what version you have (I wasn't aware that there are multiple versions).

Like someone said, CD1 - CD6 is the iPod. It's kind of a ghetto setup - basically the car thinks it's playing a 6-disc CD player. The CD's go in order of the views of music on the iPod (at least on mine it does).

CD1 - Playlists
CD2 - Artists
CD3 - Songs
and so on.

So there isn't something wrong with my setup, its just the way it supposed to be is I guess.

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic that they couldn't do better. At least it's reliable though. You have to get into the habit of creating playlists, then you'll be fine. Otherwise you have to scroll endlessly, which is rather arduous and slow.

I get a message that says "Connected to an external device" Something like that.

I have the factory option so i have the USB Source selection in my radio.

No Bimmer logo, apple logo. I maybe some versions of the ipod show the logo. I have a 4th Generation Nano.
