Just ordered 2010 335 Convertible

I've been following these forums for a few months but haven't participated until now. Just recently ordered a 2010 335 Convertible, Le Mans Blue, Saddle Brown, Dark Burl, M Sports Package w/Paddles, Premium Package, Nav, Satellite Radio (Stern Rules), Comfort Access, iPod/USB, Smartphone, Through-loading, Logic 7.

Having the rear-spoiler installed at the port and the clear protective coating on the hood and front bumper.

Has anyone else had the clear protective coating applied? My previous new vehicles had excessive paint chips and marks on the nose and hood and I want to avoid if possible with my 335. Have there been any bad experiences? Has it held up over time?

Welcome! I did not put any protective coating and it is still holding up pretty well. Just on a side note, I notice that many covertibles come equipped with heated seats. Do you not want heated seats?

I've got them on my Z and never really use them in SoFL. Once in a while, on a long trip, more like a heating pad than a comfort issue.

Why would you pay sticker? The 2500 credit is totally separate than the selling price of the sticker. I work for a dealer, so I know. But if your happy paying sticker then congrats, good luck! Nice car!

I got my car from the same dealership. I got the 2500 holiday cash, plus another 3500.00 off sticker. If I were you I would renegotiate.

I got that on my TSX because Acura paint is fragile and excessive paint chips are an issue on Acuras, and it works great. However, I generally end up with little/ few chips on any of my cars (including the Acura). So I don't think I'll do it with the Bimmer, but since you have had many chips in the past (probably depends where you drive), I'd do it if I were you. As others have suggested, I would negociate the price from their invoice price before you sign on the dotted line; unless that doesn't really matter to you.

Edited to add: It also doesn't protect the entire hood by any means, but again, I still think it's a good idea for someone who experiences a lot of chips.

That's the perfect BMW customer... paying MSRP for a car that just became a year old last Friday and not delivered yet.
