Dealer says I need all new injectors..HELP

I took my car to the dealer for excessive smoking from the tailpipes. They checked my turbos and crankcase and said they were fine and came to the conclusion my injectors are going bad and dumping too much fuel into the engine. They are quoting me 1800. How much cheaper is it to buy the injectors online and getting it done somewhere else? I also asked if it was possible to tell which injectors are bad and they told me no because I am not throwing any misfire codes. Advice?

It's much cheaper outside. you can get them for 107$ each from Tischer so a total of 856$. and swap them yourself. You will still need to code but Vasil has a tutorial for that and he made it pretty easy.

Don't forget the gasket and decoupling element. Adds another 30 or so to the cost but necessary.

so the injectors are 642$ for 6... lol have no idea why I multiplied by 8...

you need a PC (windows OS), INPA is free to download and the D-can USB cable. Quick seach and I found one for 99$. I'm sure you can find cheaper if you search on ebay...

There is the DIY you need:

The decoupling does not come with the injectors!?

If not thanks for the tip, I always assumed it comes with it...

Too much fuel?
You don't need new injectors, what you need is more boost

If it's 08 or older there is a recall for injectors and they have some procedure to check each injector. If 09 and up and still have warranty ask if they can replace it under that and if they say they won't do it because they have not failed yet, just wait until they fail
Otherwise just do it yourself or go to an indy shop.

Hi,

What year car?
How Many miles.
This might be covered under a Federal Emissions requirement.

Hi,

I have a somewhat similar problem I THINK...I have an 07 335i with 52k miles.
Now I have DPs and when I had my secondary cats cut out a few weeks ago, my tailpipes started smoking BADLY and consistently, BLACK SMOKE. I have a COBB and am running Stg 2 but I don't get any codes.
I have a CEL from the DPs and still have CPO until then end of the year...
Does anyone have suggestions?????

THX!!!

If it was running that rich, you would have a CEL.

I'm just going by what the dealer said. They said the injectors are dumping in too much fuel and thats what causing all the smoke. I had them double check the turbos and the crankcase and they said they had their lead tech confirm that it was the injectors. I am not throwing a code though.
