Well, you know what gossips men can be Paul.

Either you're thinking of moving house or want to know the reputation of a garage selling a M3 or legalised brothels (eh, where did that come from!).

Got it!! You've got a M3 'for the weekend Sir' and you've 'pulled' and want to impress her with your driving skills and take her to some pretty locations. Warm?

Ok, I'm picking up Billie Piper (from Swindon) and then taking her for a leisurely drive and want to show her some nice places. Maybe go for a cream tea, or visit a medieval fort or local folly. Perhaps there's some nice green areas to discover with some interesting fauna and fungi... I want it to look like I know where I'm going....

The same illuminous pigs just flew past my window too!

I'm definitely turning diesel...

Billie Piper - yes she is attractive, but would you want to go near her after Chris Evans - streuth he's NOT handsome. Thought it was flora and fauna, unless you've got a thing for magic mushrooms

You're doing a Jason now with the smilie. Sorry don't believe you on the diesel thing. Have you seen the prices!!

Know some good roads in Wiltshire around Devizes, not that far away.

I live kind of near Reading (in a village nearer Basingstoke, but not far from Reading) and used to live in Newbury for a few years. I know next to nothing about Swindon though.

Devices (hidden message there?), yes Devizes is nice itself imo and the roads around there and upto Avebury used to be good driving roads, and there's West Kennet if you're into ancient burial grounds, Pagans and sacrifices ie. our true native religion

Diesel - not convinced.

M3 = more chance of taking Billie Piper to the Long Barrow.

A bit of drifting around the magic roundabout for sure then.

Swindon's a bit far south, but up around Cirencester has a few nice roads.

Hmm, not much that jumps out at me really. There are a few that would be okay if they are clear, such as the A339 Newbury-Basingstoke, (parts of the) A4 Newbury-Theale and A4 Newbury-Hungerford roads. However, they are very rarely clear these days so you don't really get a good run unless it is 4am. You have to watch for speed limits and cameras these days too.

The A4 Hungerford road can be taken right down to Devizes if memory serves, which isn't a bad run if you don't get caught behind a tractor. I haven't been that way for some years though so they might've killed it with roundabouts and new housing estates by now

I'll have a think and if I come up with any more I'll post again.

It's between London and Bath, right? I stayed at a resort called Littlecote in Hungerford, close to Swindon. Nice countryside... The property is actually a national landmark (something about a King and Jane Seymour did their nasty there). Also, some Roman ruins on site. The garden is gorgeous, and the peacocks and pheasants run wild.

In that general area I would go north to the Cotswolds and borders of that area...
