I had it recorded in my DVR. It is the best show that any country could come up with so far. It is nothing but spectacular!!
DTD, how did you capture those great photos?

Definitely one of the best openings in history, $300mil USD well spent.
Did you guys hear on TV that China is investing about $6mil for every Gold Medal that they are projecting to win (about 40ish). Not sure if that is USD or RMB. I hope all those Olympic venues get used after the Olympics, China has a habit of vacating facilities after events. |

I watched. It was a really good show.
But I was kept on thinking about the USD 300 Million they were spending on the show could have been used on the Earth quake victims. Also I just couldn't help that they were kicking so many people out on the street and demolishing their houses and business so that they can present this wonderful image to the rest of the world. What a sad state. As for the comment about some the fireworks were computer generated. - Yes it was. Even the NBC commentatior told the same. |

Yep I did. I was jumping for Joy. I was following Phelps form last olympics and the US trial. I really really hope he takes 8 gold. It is fun to see the reaction of the French team. - Should have kept the mouth shut. Now it is Ian Thorpe's time to eat his words.

When is the next replay? (I missed it)
Comcast On-Demand has other Beijing items, but not the ceremony... Anyone know if it will show again? The nbcolympics.com site doesnt tell you jack sh.t about a replay, unless you take your own time to scroll through the local listings etc. |

I don't see why China would cheap out on fireworks after spending $300mil on the rest of the ceremony. Doesn't make much sense. Agree on the 10M Beijing/ers not noticing. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/oth...nts-faked.html As for the NBC didn't broadcast live, that story is related to them not broadcasting live the events on any one other than the EST. For people in MST or PST it is on a delay fedd. But I haven't heard any thing about the opening ceremony on a delay feed. |
