Vessel: Pacific Breeze - ETA Port Hueneme May 17
Anyone else on Pacific Breeze? Just got the word from my CA that it's due in Port Hueneme on May 17th!
Any help tracking her is greatly appreciated! |

I am tracking her for a friend who has a MB SL63 AMG onboard. Here is Pac Breeze in the English Channel.

Normally they do arrive on the posted arrival date. And, normally I would tell you that they always transit earlier than their posted transit date. But, we just watched a whole group of ships go through the PanCanal that were running two to five days late. The PanCanal people did some repairs to the Canal, and on top of that, there was a surge of ships wanting to cross, so the Canal got really backlogged. So, PB will probably transit earlier than the 12th, as long as they don't have any more repairs or surges in traffic. Also, FYI, it takes 6-7 days for the ship to get from the Pacific Ocean side of the Canal up the coast to SoCal.

Any updates on the ship's position? I assume it's chugging along somewhere in the Atlantic right now. |

I didn't follow her all the way through the English Channel yesterday, but I am sure she's out in the Atlantic now. I just checked sailwx.info and I don't see her on the map, either. Sailwx is the only way for us to track these ships out on the ocean and that comes from a ship's weather observation reporting. Many ship captains don't report their weather observations. NYK Line ships, which I believe PB is, aren't good reporters. So, if they don't report, we are out of luck. And, AIS radar is only good for tracking within 50 miles of a port, so that is how we tracked her through the English Channel yesterday. Now that she's out in the open ocean, we lost that ability. This is the hardest part; waiting out this black hole across the ocean. I made a map with dates spread out across the ocean (see the Hojin thread-I posted it) and checked off a date for each passing day. It was fairly satisfying to cross off the dates as days passed. Other than that, keep an eye on sailwx just in case she reports. They can surprise you. |

Hey guys, there is a thread on 1addicts tracking the same boat. So we can better join forces:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...d=1#post124951 I might be on that boat also (135i), waiting for my stupid CA to call me back. Update: just called back, says can't track ED cars the same way and has called bmw to see where it is. |

Here's the sailwx information for Maersk Wind (credit: M3RACER90 from the Maersk Wind thread), which left Bremerhaven the day before Pacific Breeze. PB should be just behind it...

Spn- good call, I looked up the ship "Helsinki Express" on Sailwx which is supposed to get to the Panama Canal about 11 hours later than Pacific Breeze- as of Apr. 30 around noon (not sure about time zone) it was about 2K miles east of the Caribbean Islands. |

Time from Ship to Dealer
Nice- hopefully it shouldn't take too long to get to the dealership after the ship arrives in Oxnard- my dealer said if it arrives on the 17th, they should have it by the 20th. Helsinki Express is inching its way towards Panama (about 18 mi/hr) but slow and steady wins the race right?

Waiting builds character. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
We should see it hit the panama canal in a few days.

Looking at http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/ for Pacific Breeze, it shows a Arrived/ETA of "05/16 unkn". Perhaps we got kicked up a day?
How soon will PB show up on AIS/etc on it's approach to the Canal?

It's Monday... I'm still warming up. I did find this (humorous scan of a printed out calendar) on Port Hueneme's site:
http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0502142240.pdf PB is due in on the 18th of May.
